Salone del gusto
Among the VIP guests at the festival 1001 delicija in Split, in June this year,
there was Piero Sardo, the President of the Foundation for Biodiversity of Slow
Food from Bra in Italy. As an expert for cheese and wine, Sardo was one of the speakers
in the workshop led by prof.dr. Jasmina Lukač-Havranek, former dean of the Faculty
of Agronomy of Zagreb's University.
During his visit to the festival the representative of Slow Food, the renomated
Italian food association that gathers more than 80.000 members around the world,
had the opportunity to taste Croatian gastronomic specialties and was delighted
by the high quality of the products.
For that reason he invited the 1001 delicija team, as guest from Croatia, to attend
the manifestation Terra Madre which aims to preserve and promote traditional food,
and is taking place within this year's Salone del gusto, the unique gastronomic
show organized by Slow Food (26-30 october,Torino).
Croatian golden cook of the year, Zlatko Marinović, chef at the restaurant Noštromo
in Split, is one of the 1000 cooks of Terra Madre, from all over the world. Two
of our small producers, Anka Prpić with her wild berries jams "Teta Anka", and the
Vukšić family with their olive oil, and the original cake made with all mediterranean
ingredients as well as olive oil, called "Diocletian's crown", will be in Torino.
